Vacuum pump

Vacuum filtration is a commonly used Microbiological procedure to collect microorganisms from a liquid sample on a membrane.

The vacuum pump connects to a manifold to force the liquid sample through the filtration membrane. This membrane is then deposited on a selective agar for the detection and enumeration of microorganisms. (ex. Compass CC for the detection of E.coli & coliforms or GVPC agar for the detection of Legionella)
