The AOAC® Performance Tested MethodSM (PTM) Program evaluated the AgraStrip Gluten G12 method and found that the method performed to its specifications.
In the AOAC® Performance Tested MethodSM program Romer LabsAgraStrip Gluten G12 Test Kit was compared to the AOAC OMA reference method 2012.01 “Gliadin as a Measure of Gluten in Foods Containing Wheat, Rye and Barley”. Certification (PTM Certification #061403) was granted by the Research Institute for the “selected matrices” claim for foods (bread, ice cream, cookies, dark chocolate and rice flour) as well as for the “individual matrices” claim for environmental matrices (stainless steel).
The AgraStrip® Gluten G12 test kit incorporates the monoclonal G12 antibody, which was raised against the main immunotoxic fragment triggering celiac disease – the 33mer. Celiac patients must strictly avoid gluten in their diet and therefore need to rely on correct labelling of foods.
